Somakumaran. A self taught photographer , from picturesque village of Idukki , Kerala, India.
He started photography from his early age 16, by rent Agfa Clik lll camera from a local studio. In more than last 30 years, In his journey with his camera, he fortunate take several photographs of Landscape, cultural, traditional Performing Arts like as Kathakali, Mudiyettu, Theyyam , Koodiyattam etc…
He conduct two solo exhibition of Photography 2012 and 2014 named Kathakali and unknown seen
And participated many group exhibitions – including :-
1) Sawan Drisya, Monsoon photography 2013, by Coffee County Wayandu, Now Termerica (2013)
2) Malappuram, Kottakunnu Lalithakala Academy Art Gallery , by Light Source Club (2015)
3) Kodungalloor Muziris Heritage Convention Centre (2016)( Landscape and Culture ) conducted by Tourism Department , Govt. of Kerala
In these exhibitions he got many appreciations from important persons in various field, from inland and abroad .
Worked for many magazine’s project.
A pocket book published named “Kochi- Queen of the Arabian Sea” for helps to Kochi visitors on 28 Sept. 2016 in the venue of KTM 2016 Wellington Island, released by KTDC Chairman Mr. M. Vijayakumar- ex Kerala Speaker .
He have many friends from Artist field in India and abroad ,
His pictures sells by print on museum quality canvas, as per order and size up to 60 inch longer side,

Manfred Ferrari, Italy. He is the contributor and adviser of Somakumaran’s photography from last 4 years.
Manfred Ferrari is a catholic journalist and photographer specialized in Vatican matters, living near the Italian capital. He met and photographed several dignitaries of the Catholic Church and in 1985 he was allowed to take several pictures of Blessed Mother Teresa in Rome For the last five years he visited regularly India, especially Kerala.
Since 2015 we started a collaboration in publishing postcards of our beautiful region. He is impressed by the religious peace he discovered in “Keralas God owned Country”.
